About FRC 4643 Thunderbird Robotics:

The FRC 4643 Thunderbird Robotics team is located at Las Plumas High School in Oroville, CA and is open to all students from surrounding communities in all of Butte County. The team competes in the FIRST (For Inspiring and Recognition of Science and Technology) Robotics Competition (FRC). Each year they are given a challenge that the robot must perform to succeed at the competition. The team is given six weeks to design, build and test a robot. The team is led by advisors and mentors that help students through the process of designing, fabricating and assembling a robot to best compete in the year’s challenge. Learn more about this year’s competition here!

FRC 4643 Thunderbird Robotics is committed to all of the team’s sponsors of the year. The robot build season begins in January and competitions are in March and April. In the off season, team members receive training for safe equipment usage, programming, electrical, pneumatics, CAD and many other areas. Throughout the year, they will perform demonstrations and presentations for organizations, local events, sponsors and local schools. In addition, Thunderbird Robotics promotes STEM learning at the middle and elementary school levels through the use of Lego Mindstorm robot kits by mentoring in after school activities and hosting a summer camp.

Their team is constantly looking for help, not only financial, but also volunteer help from individuals with the background of education, engineering, and any other STEM fields that wish to volunteer their time to advise and mentor their prosperous team. Thunderbird Robotics is confident that with financial support from dedicated sponsors, the team will be able to fulfill the required registration, material, equipment and travel costs.
