High School Robotics Club Fundraiser

The Thunderbird Robotics Club, working out of Las Plumas High School in Oroville, is seeking donations for their participation in the upcoming FIRST Robotics Competition.

During this competition, teams of approximately 20 high school students are challenged to plan, design, program and ultimately build an industrial-sized robot in only six weeks. Each team’s final robot will then compete against other student teams in various field games.

While all student members of the Thunderbirds Robotics Club are determined to beat their competition at the state and national levels, they are in need of financial and material support for travel costs, uniforms and parts. The Thunderbirds are seeking $2,000 to $3,000 by the end of February to secure their place in the competition.

In addition to financial support, the students have published a “Wish List” of all parts and other necessary materials needed to defeat their competition. You can visit the Thunderbird’s ‘Wish List’ containing links to purchase each part.

You can support local students improve their teamwork skills and knowledge of STEM concepts. Please make all checks payable to the Butte County Office of Education with “Thunderbirds Robotics” in the Memo.
