New Cal Competes Round March 9 to April 6

California will award $31 million in tax credits during the next California Competes
application period, running March 9 to April 6, 2015. Awards are based on total jobs
created, total investment, average wage, economic impact, strategic importance and
other criteria.

The preliminary application process runs through several phases in a tight

North State Awards
Congratulations to North State recipients of the Cal Competes tax credits announced
January 15:

  • Fruit Growers Supply Company (Yreka, Ontario) sawmills, agriculturalshipping
  • Adams Group Inc. (Arbuckle, Woodland) agricultural processing
  • Development Group, Inc. (Redding) computer systems
  • Klean Kanteen, Inc. (Chico) bottle and container manufacturing
  • Wright & Wright, Inc. (Yuba City) accounting
  • Robert Galligan & Associates, Inc. (Marysville) insurance
  • Robert L. Horvath, Inc., dba Clayborn Lab (Truckee) electrical equipment and components

These businesses were included among the 56 companies approved for a total of
$31 million in tax credits during the round that began last fall.
GO-Biz is currently evaluating the most competitive proposals from the round that
just closed Feb. 2. Those recommended for a tax credit will be published April 6, and
a tax credit committee then makes the final decision.
